Piercing the Darkness (Book III)
5.0 out of 5 stars Very satisfying conclusion to an epic series
By Mainer on July 24, 2016
Piercing the Darkness is the last book in the The Rise of Nazil trilogy. It’s a stunning conclusion to this excellent fantasy series with many of the characters I’ve grown to love showing up to add more to the story.
The children of the Chosen take center stage here. It is their turn to fight the darkness of the powers of Sanctium. An unexpected event occurs when one of the cousins with the blood of Oisin is turned to the dark side and the other forces and prophecies that were set in play in the first two books come into effect.
I still had plenty of Pentamir and Brahanu, Dani and Zeta, and the other characters I love to read about, but there are some new and interesting people added into the mix. The cousins though are the heart of the story: Raithym, Tardison and the others, and it is they who must save the land with the help of the Guardians.
This was a satisfying conclusion to this epic series. I heartily recommend you get all three books and binge-read this series.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Mind-blowing Ending to an Epic Trilogy
By Meghan on August 31, 2016
Aaron-Michael Hall got my attention–and subsequent loyalty–ever since the first Nazil book. She has this unique take on world-crafting that leaves you amazed at the sheer complexity and intricacy of the story you’ve had the good fortune to discover. If in The Rise of Nazil the red-hot romance between Brahanu and Pentanimir (embroiled in the thick “soup” of Nazilian politics, violence, and intrigue) enraptured you for hours on end, then consider Piercing the Darkness as the intensifying choke-hold of a tale that seems destined to become a classic. In PTD, all the epic battle scenes and the blood-soaked action are icing on the cake of a story that’s so beguiling for many reasons. The slow burn of the intricate plotting is matched only by the sudden savage twists that tends to catch you by surprise–for example (and this I’m giving so carefully, to avoid unwittingly give away some vital spoilers), what happened with Raithym and Tardison was mind-blowing, to say the least, not to mention the clever denouement that Hall manages to weave into the surprising ending. And of course, the story would not have been as beguiling as it is without its unique emotional gravity–you feel that every moment is real, despite how fantastic it might seem. This might be a fantasy tale but its heart, its passion, its verve make it deeply unforgettable. Highly recommended for no-nonsense fantasy fans.
5.0 out of 5 stars Piercing the Darkness is a complex, twisting ride through a richly layered world!

This novel starts where Seed of Scorn leaves off, with impending conflict in Faélondul and between the members of the house of Benoist. Once again, Aaron-Michael Hall weaves magic to create a captivating and enthralling tale of love, lust, betrayal and commitment. This is a truly writhing plot with multifaceted characters that are eternally evolving in such unexpected twists.
Aaron-Michael Hall excels at creating a portrait of humanity at its best and at its worst, with characters that are three-dimensional and compelling. The stakes are high and the emotions are real. And moving behind it all is a theme just as timely as it is timeless.
I am very proud to recommend this book. Aaron-Michael Hall is one of my favorite fantasy authors, and this book proves why.
5.0 out of 5 stars Blown Away!
By Amazon Customer on August 1, 2016
I am blown away with this 3 book series! I was told by a dear friend about this series. I had to see for self if it was in fact as epic as they made it out to be. I borrowed books one and two and couldn’t put them down. Book 3 ties them together so well. Kuddos to well told fantasy.
4.0 out of 5 stars 4 3/4 star’s, only because of graphic adult content. Be aware!
By Amazon Customer on August 9, 2016
This would be a 5 star if not for the very graphic content. The conflicts between families that leads to the most fierce battle of the lands. It makes for more than just some blood shed. The shocking turn of events will leave you desperately wanting more.

I have became a fan of the The Rise of the Nazil series. I feel the characters come to life within book 3 as they did in the others. This fantasy grabbed me in and put right there from start to finish. I recommend this to any one who loves fantasy. Well done!

I am not big on reviews, as far me doing them that is. Any who I will do one when deserved. This book was a great conclusion to the 3 part series.
